Buenos Aires, considered one of the most important cities in Latin America, is a multifaceted and cosmopolitan metropolis with three million inhabitants living within the city proper and numerous immigrates from a variety of countries. Consequently, marked by influences from the world over, the expectations of even the most demanding tourist are fulfilled.

The city is located on the La Plata River, whose vast surface is more that 200 km2.

Established by the Spanish first in 1536 by don Pedro de Mendoza, the city was settled a second time on July 11th, 1580, by don Juan de Garay.

The city’s architecture is outstandingly reminiscent of that in Europe. Many of its cityscapes are a paragon of the beauty and layout of Paris.

The city’s cultural life is apparent both in the quality and abundance of its cultural centers and the activities they offer: museums, exhibition halls and lectures rooms, art galleries, film, theaters, concerts and other national and international high quality shows.

Its commercial activity –another demand of the international tourist –is very intense and prolific. This may be attributed to the profusion of commercial centers – stores, galleries and shopping malls –which carry brands that are desired worldwide.

One attraction that’s not to be missed is the city’s infinite nightlife, with each spot offering its own peculiarity. Of course, tango prevails as the symbol of Argentina’s cultural patrimony.
