Argentina Standard Time is GMT-3 and doesn’t change during the summer.
Due to the energy crisis that the country is experiencing, Argentina (with a few exceptions but occurring throughout the city) transitorily sprang its clocks forward in order to save electricity as the city has prolonged days, usually starting at dawn and extending into the early morning hours.
Many of the commercial and industrial sectors have had to adjust to this requirement.
In general, commercial centers attend to the public Monday through Friday 9 AM to 8PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM. Shopping malls are open later –until 10 PM-, including weekends and holidays.
Restaurant hours vary depending on food selection and consumer activity.
Banks maintain a fixed schedule (from 10 AM to 3 or $PM). Automated teller machines, however, (ATM’s) provide convenient access to your funds during and outside normal banking hours.
